Day 179  to 185

January 1st to the 7th, 2008

Cabo San Lucas!

<< avant / before

          after /  après >>

A "rio". It could be an ordinairy "rio", just like thousands of others...

A bridge. An ordinairy bridge?...

NO! This rio leads directly to the only vehicule accessible beach in Cabo and this bridge is the Baja 1000 finish line!

To us, they also represent the reaching of our goal, our fnish line to Cabo!

From july 7th, '07 to january 7th, '08, almost 7,000 miles

7-7-7

From Canada to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

We're very proud to say that

we have done what had never been done before

We are the first ever to ride quads from Canada to Cabo.

Our first goal, Cabo San Lucas has been reached!

It's not the end of the ride,

THE ADVENTURE CONTINUES!

Our next goal:

The west coast of Baja all the way back to the U.S.A.

...T.B.C...

To those who said:

"It's impossible."

"Nobody ever did that."

"You'll never be able to do that!"

"How are you going to find which way to go?"

"Camping alone, in the wild, it's dangerous!"

We reply that with a lot of determination (and a little bit of crazyness), making your dream come true is possible!

Ever since the very beginning of the trip, we have always kept heading south.
But south of Cabo, there's nothing but the ocean!!!

That means we're at the southern most point of our ride!

Guess that means, from here, we have to head north!

You'll definitely hear more from Quadtrek's Adventure!

Our main sponsor, Polaris, as sent a couple of reporters down here in Cabo to document our trip!

Stay tuned!

Cabo San Lucas, It's the beach!

This one's for you, Lorenzo!

On the beach.

Just one of the countless sellers of hand made "stuff".

Pretty typical looking Signor.

That's another way to get here...

Cabo San Lucas, our "home" for a couple of weeks.

Not quite the type of remote and rustic camping we like but the weather is so nice, it compensate largely. Down here, it's blue sky and hot everyday (85deg F or 30deg C), there's NO wind execpt a light breeze on the beach. The water temperature is around 78 or 80. Wonderfull! No wonder Cabo is so popular. It's THE place where the weather is the nicest. It's beach is also protected from the wind because of the way the end of the peninsula is shaped.

Cabo San Lucas, it's also the city!

They're cruising in town, 2 on a single seater quad, one of them without a helmet.
Somebody call the police!
But wait! It IS the police!!

A smile that tells it all !

Cabo is very Americanised.

6 months! Tonight, we celebrate!

YYYYEESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!

Yep! 6 months,
Yes, we celebrate the acheivement of our first goal and our 6 months on the trail with our friends reporters from Polaris, Brian and Jeff (and it's also Jeff's birthday!)

THE ADVENTURE CONTINUES!

Back to the U.S. via the Pacific side if Baja,
...T.B.C...

Well Hon...This is it. We can't go any further. Guess we have to turn around..."

...to be continued after our vacation

Aaaahhhh!!

Due to the very limited availability of fresh food and also to enjoy local Mexican food, we decided to eat at restaurants more often for the duration of our stay in Baja.

If we discover something worth mentionning,we'll let you know.

Aujourd'hui /Today:

Quesadillas.
Typically Mexican.

Big Mac.
Typically American.
